At AS&D, we believe that quality railing doesn’t just enhance properties—it supports communities. That’s why we were proud to partner with Rick’s Custom Fencing & Decking and WeShine to contribute to a recent community railing project in Portland, Oregon.

This volunteer-driven initiative centered around WeShine’s new micro-village, a project designed to provide safe, transitional housing for underserved individuals in the Portland area. Our role? Supplying durable, low-maintenance aluminum railing systems that help create secure, accessible environments for future residents.

A COMMUNITY RAILING PROJECT WITH PURPOSE

Rick’s Fencing has long been a trusted partner in quality craftsmanship and community outreach, and their work with WeShine is a reflection of that commitment. By contributing materials and labor, Rick’s helped bring this village to life—focusing on safety, aesthetics, and long-term durability.

When they reached out to AS&D for railing that would match the village’s needs, we didn’t hesitate to get involved. Our products were the right fit for the job: corrosion-resistant, code-compliant, and visually appealing—ideal for the small porches and walkways that give each home its own identity.

LOOKING AHEAD

As AS&D continues to grow, we’re committed to taking part in projects that uplift and support our neighbors. Whether it’s through product donations, collaboration with local builders, or volunteering time and expertise, we’re always looking for ways to give back.

We’re grateful to Rick’s Fencing and WeShine for the opportunity to be involved in this important work—and we look forward to the next community railing project on the horizon.
